Library FAQs

Library FAQs (frequently asked questions)

  • Grades K-2: 1 book

    Grades 3-5: 2 books

If your child has an overdue or lost book, they will have limited checkout until the book is returned, replaced, or paid for

  • Library books are due one week after checkout. Each classroom has a library return basket. Please remind your child to return finished or overdue books the day before their scheduled library visit. Books may also be returned when they come to the library for class or during open library times.

If a student needs more time to finish a book, they can usually renew it, but they MUST bring the book to the library to have it renewed.

  • Everyone makes mistakes! If your child has lost a book, it’s important that they let library staff know right away so that we can order a replacement. In order to check out a book, your child will need to clear their library account by either paying the book replacement fee or providing the library with a replacement copy.

  • All students have a 30-45 minute library visit with their class each week.

The library is also open before school (8:35-8:55am) for quick book return and checkout. There are also “open library” times during school hours when students can visit the library with their teacher’s permission.
